An unusual French provincial scene of a grandmother and her grandson walking with sacks and branches. The grandmother has a walking stick, sun hat and a red scarf and the boy has a checked shirt, shorts and a sunhat - we sympathize with him!

Early twentieth-century, oil on canvas by Emile Victor Barthelemy (1885-1964).

This painting has been cleaned and re-varnished.

Barthelemy's work has been exhibited in the Marseille gallery.
