Early 19th Century French meat serving cover - fused silver
An early nineteenth century meat cover with a lovely large walnut-shaped handle. Either from a large estate, restaurant or hotel for keeping meals warm until the cover was lifted. Made from silver plate fused on copper - where the silver has worn through, the copper is visible. There is a small hole at the top near the decoration - refer to photos.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
