Each drawer is decorated with molded outlines and a central carved floral rosette, while fluted corners, a gently scalloped apron and short curved feet complete the design. The more recent painted finish is a soft celadon color, with touches of gold paint highlighting the carved and molded details. Areas of rubbing and exposed wood give the surface a richly textured, distressed appearance. The chest is heavy and solid, with drawers in good condition that slide fairly smoothly. One drawer knob has a partial loss, and the top shows an old repair and some separation between the boards, consistent with its age.

The weathered celadon green paint and discreet gilded details give this chest plenty of old-world charm, balancing its sturdy construction with a more delicate finish. Its compact proportions make it particularly versatile, whether beside a bed, with a lamp and a few old books on top and linens stored in the drawers, or in a country kitchen, displaying antique pottery or a collection of old plates. It would sit naturally among antique furniture and collected objects in a country interior, while its color could bring a fresh, informal note to a more contemporary setting.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
Approx. overall 32¼" high x 40½" wide x 23¾" deep
Approx. overall 82cm high x 103cm wide x 60cm deep

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1166/6698/files/DSC09968_16930f42-8bec-4f8d-9c0b-7c387505198a.jpg?v=1791525875
https://www.chezpluie.com/products/18th-century-french-oak-chest-of-drawers-with-celadon-green-patina-321-4-x-401-2
