Warm shades of ocher, apricot and gold contrast beautifully with the deep charcoal and violet tones of the animals and reeds, their reflections rendered in bold, graphic lines. Woven on a Jacquard loom, it was produced for Jean Laurent, a master weaver associated with Aubusson tapestry. This example is numbered 23 from an edition of 500 and retains its certificate, dated February 5, 1981, with the artist's signature.
