19th century salvaged zinc fountainhead - lion - 12½"

This rare zinc fountainhead dates from the nineteenth century. Made in the shape of a lion, it would have originally been used indoors (with a handwashing basin for example). A lovely piece that can be used decoratively or installed as part of a functioning fountain (a skilled plumber is recommended for this). Water can be fed from the top and out the mouth.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
