Their softly modeled bodies, curled hair and expressive faces give the pair a lively sense of movement, while subtle differences in posture and carving emphasize their handmade character. The wood has developed a warm, richly varied patina, with darker areas in the recesses, lighter wear across the more exposed surfaces and several age-related cracks that add to the sense of their long history. \u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eBoth figures show losses to the hands, and one has a recent restoration to the drapery, but these details are far less noticeable once mounted at height.
