Their most distinctive feature is the unusual palette, with mottled green, ochre and rusty red tones worked across the turned elements, creating a layered, almost painterly finish. The warm gilt details add a little brilliance without overpowering the color. There are visible areas of paint loss and rubbing across the green and red painted sections, together with wear to the gilt-metal arms. The losses are stable and sit naturally within the mottled finish, giving the pair a softened, timeworn surface that feels entirely in keeping with their age and decorative character.

The pair has a distinctly Italian decorative character, with the mottled finish giving the painted surfaces depth and variation. Their compact scale keeps them visually light, while the unusual color palette gives them real presence. Hung together above a long kitchen or dining table, the repetition would create a strong rhythm and bring warmth and color to the room. They could also work beautifully as a pair in a bedroom, one over each bedside table, where their compact scale and decorative color would add warmth and a slightly unexpected sense of character.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
Must be rewired and installed in accordance with local electrical requirements.
Each measures approx. 26" high x 15" diameter
Each measures approx. 66cm high x 38cm diameter

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1166/6698/files/DSC09423_5b1059e0-640d-432e-a1b4-58fd59e4d644.jpg?v=1790854191
