Each panel combines turned side elements with open vertical sections and a richly carved central motif of scrolling foliage and fruit. The warm, stripped finish brings out the carving and gives the group a softly aged, characterful feel. This repurposing celebrates craftsmanship that might otherwise have been lost, treating the pieces as architectural salvage or decorative wall fragments rather than conventional furniture parts.

Their carved detail and antique surface bring texture and history to a wall, while the set of four allows for different arrangements: grouped loosely, hung symmetrically above a console or bed, or used individually in smaller spaces. They would be particularly effective in a chalet, country house or other interior built around natural materials, where the carved wood would add a sense of age and authenticity. In a more contemporary room, their openwork silhouettes could read almost as pieces of wall sculpture. In a more contemporary setting, their unusual origin and intricate openwork would bring an intriguing, slightly exotic note, suggesting the layered atmosphere of a home shaped by travel and curiosity.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
Each measures approx. 20" high x 15¼" wide x 2" thick
Each measures approx. 51cm high x 39cm wide x 5cm thick

https://www.chezpluie.com/products/set-of-four-early-20th-century-carved-wooden-chair-backs-repurposed-as-wall-decor-20-x-151-4
