An oil on canvas from the late nineteenth / early twentieth-century of "The bridge of Avignon" the Pont Saint-Bénézet or Le pont d'Avignon by Laurent Genin (1895-1953). The Pont d'Avignon is one of the most famous bridges in France dating from the twelfth-century and classified as a world heritage site. It no longer spans the river due to crusades and violent floodwaters of the Rhône River.
Works by Genin have been exhibited in Musee Calvet, Avignon.
