Antique French Bells, Globes, Demijohns

Antique French Bells, Globes, Demijohns

Antique French blown glass demijohns, cloches, bells, and display domes reflect both utilitarian glassmaking traditions and the decorative uses that evolved from them. Our collection brings together original pieces selected for clarity, scale, and condition, with each example showing the subtle variations, air bubbles, and tonal shifts characteristic of hand-blown glass.

Demijohns are large glass vessels originally used for storing and transporting wine and vinegar. Their generous scale and rounded forms lend sculptural presence, and the soft green and clear tones typical of Mediterranean glass contribute to a coastal character. They may be displayed individually or in groups, converted into lamps, or used as oversized vases for loose branches and seasonal foliage.

Glass cloches, bells, and domes were traditionally used to protect delicate objects and remain well suited to creating contained arrangements or displaying small works, natural specimens, and decorative objects. They can be enjoyed in entryways and living rooms and look wonderful set on a rustic console table

Each piece is carefully measured, clearly documented, and professionally photographed, with condition noted. Stock availability is maintained in real time. All glassware ships directly from France and is packed using methods developed for transporting fragile objects.
