This exceptional rustic desk is made from French oak. The original carvings on the front and sides date to the 17th century. It was once a chest in the office of an organist in a French church, and it was converted into a desk in the 19th century. The cupboards, desk top and flat elements were added at this time. The linear carving on the side panels is known as serviette. There are two cupboards with a centre drawer.
