This rustic wooden milk crate dates from the 1950s and is branded Leroux Chicorée in red and brown. It has cut out handles on either end. This would look fabulous if used as a cachepot, and can be used for storing and displaying a great variety of items due to its generous proportions.
Leroux Chicorée, established in 1858 by Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Leroux in Orchies, France, has a long-standing tradition in the production of chicory. Initially, the company focused on cultivating and processing chicory roots as a coffee substitute. Over time, Leroux became a household name, known for its high-quality chicory products, which were especially popular during periods when coffee was scarce. The company expanded its product line to include various chicory-based beverages and culinary ingredients.
