For more than forty years, Patricia Wells has shaped how generations of readers cook, eat and experience France. As a journalist, restaurant critic, bestselling author and teacher, she has chronicled French food from the markets of Provence to the dining rooms of Paris. Alongside her husband, Walter, she has also created two deeply personal homes: Chanteduc, their farmhouse in Provence, and their apartment on the rue du Bac.

Now, Patricia and Walter are opening their doors once again.

At Home with Patricia Wells, Volume III is the third Chez Pluie catalogue devoted to objects from their private collection. It follows two previous sales that offered an intimate look at a life built around cooking, entertaining, travel and an enduring curiosity about France.

This latest volume brings together antiques and everyday objects collected over decades. Provençal furniture, copper cookware, paintings, textiles, tableware and kitchen implements sit alongside pieces connected to Patricia’s celebrated cooking school and the rooms of Chanteduc. Some were discovered at brocantes and village markets; others were bought directly from local makers or received from friends. Each carries a story.

The catalogue goes beyond provenance and description. Through Patricia and Walter’s memories, the collection becomes a portrait of the people, places and experiences that shaped their life together: memorable meals, long-standing friendships, years of teaching and the quiet rituals of a much-loved home.

Every object is offered individually and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The catalogue can be explored in advance, allowing time to watch the accompanying films, read the stories and discover the collection before the sale opens.
