Collector’s Week is a six-day immersion in the world of French antiques, combining expert learning, privileged access and opportunities to discover and acquire exceptional pieces, all set against the beautiful backdrop of Provence and its celebrated art de vivre.
Chez Pluie founders Susannah and Hugh Cameron, together with curator Elvire Girault, accompany you throughout, opening the doors to their world of trusted dealers, experts, collectors and private homes. Along the way, they are joined by leading specialists in their fields, sharing the knowledge, expertise and experience that have shaped Chez Pluie over the past decade.
You will deepen your understanding of periods, styles, materials and value, refine your eye and gain greater confidence in the pieces you choose. You will then put that knowledge into practice, sourcing and comparing pieces, with access to some of Provence’s best markets, dealers and insider addresses. Should you choose to buy, the Chez Pluie team will be on hand throughout to assist with the purchase and shipping arrangements.

Six Days
Tuesday evening to Sunday evening
Based near Vaison-la-Romaine, France
Across the six days, the program moves from looking closely at individual objects to seeing antiques in the places where they are found, restored, collected and lived with. You will examine pieces spanning different periods and categories, hear the stories behind them, handle furniture and decorative objects, and discuss materials, construction, condition and restoration directly with the specialists who work with them every day.
Provence is an essential part of the week, offering a remarkable setting in which to learn. Days unfold in galleries opened especially for the group, historic properties, gardens and villages, with leisurely lunches at carefully chosen local restaurants and time to experience the landscape in between. The week is paced to balance learning, special access and opportunities to source, allowing you to put what you have learned into practice while gaining a deeper understanding of the people, places and traditions behind the antiques you encounter.

- Travel insurance
* Accommodation is booked and paid for directly by each guest. We will guide you with a carefully selected list of beautiful, authentic places to stay nearby at a range of price points, and can assist with any questions as you make your booking. You will need to arrange your own transport from your hotel to the meeting point each day.
** On the other evenings, you will be free to enjoy the excellent restaurants in our area. We will share some of our favourite places and can assist with reservations.
Reserving your place
Registering online with a 25% deposit confirms your place. The balance is due 90 days before the tour begins, and we will send a reminder one month before the payment due date.
Cancellation
Deposits are non-refundable. Once the tour is paid in full, the balance is also non-refundable.
If you have to cancel at short notice for health or family reasons, we will do our best to fill your place, and if we succeed, we will refund what we can. We cannot guarantee this, so please do not book on the assumption that a refund will be issued.
In the unlikely event that Chez Pluie cancels the tour, every payment you have made is refunded in full.

Should you find pieces you would like to take home, the Chez Pluie team can assist with packing and international shipping. You will meet the team and see how we pack, crate and manage the international logistics involved in safely delivering antiques around the world.

Travel Insurance
We require all guests to have appropriate travel insurance in place for the duration of their trip. You may already have cover through a credit card, bank account or existing policy, or you may prefer to arrange separate insurance. Please choose the level of cover that is appropriate for your own circumstances and travel plans.
