Texture and contrast
The room's centerpiece is a period Louis XV desk - beautifully carved from oak. Toothy linen and woven jute add a tactile layer to the setting, while painted pieces add contrast and soften the palette.
Nature inspired sculpture
A large coral-shaped ceramic bowl with soft pink and blue glaze is a lovely choice for displaying potted color. The vintage leather horse has a charming and curious pose and a calming presence in the space. Cast iron Medici urns are a perennial favorite - the green-blue finish on this particular urn is wonderful.
A bountiful bouquet
This vibrant floral still life dates from the 1940s and is signed Via Martin (1879-1967). Green and yellow confit pots emphasize the colors in the painting. Apothecary jars are fun collectibles. The labels and text on this set of eight are beautifully timeworn.
Gilded accents and soft symmetry
Gilded accents bring warmth to the space with the vintage parclose mirror, Empire period goose neck chandelier, and candlestick wall sconces.
