Antique French Glassware, Bottles & Pitchers

Glassware

Antique and vintage glassware occupies a particular place in a considered interior, where the quality of light passing through a well-made piece justifies its presence on a table or shelf as much as any purely decorative object.

European glassmaking developed along several distinct traditions, and the collection draws on the best of them. The decorative impulse found in Bohemian and Baccarat opaline, where glass became a ground for enamel, gilding, and painted ornament, sits alongside the more restrained clarity of Lalique crystal, where form and weight carry the object without embellishment. Art Nouveau introduced organic line and iridescent surface, while Murano brought a sculptural softness that neither French nor Bohemian glassmakers pursued in quite the same way. What connects these traditions is a shared understanding that glass, made well, is one of the most responsive materials available to a craftsman.

A Baccarat vase on a console table or mantel introduces colour and light without competing with larger pieces. Crystal stemware belongs on the dining table, where it catches candlelight from chandeliers above and rewards the effort of setting a table properly.

Each piece is carefully measured, clearly documented, and professionally photographed, with condition noted. Stock availability is maintained in real time. All glassware ships directly from France and is packed using methods developed for transporting fragile antique glass.
