This listing is part of the 'At Home with Patricia Wells' collection of epicurean objects and decorative antiques.

A large rounded soup tureen from the mid-twentieth century with two small handles and a soufflé-like top from Chanteduc, the home of Patricia and Walter Wells in Provence. Most likely made in Montpellier, it has a cinnamon color glaze with ocher-yellow and black splashes. A special piece from Patricia's collection, this soupier (in conjunction with another special yellow one!) played an integral part in Patricia's cooking classes.

Every Monday that she's ever done a class here in Provence, they always make the "soupe au pistou", and the students would fill these lovely soupière to serve the soup at the table. A lovely piece of great scale to add to a collection of culinary pottery.
