A fabulous bouillabaisse service from the 1970s by Poët-Laval. There is a large platter, superb tureen (note the fish and prawn handles) and six dinner plates in the shape of fish. They have a pretty dark olive green glaze. This will add a fun touch to a tablescape or seafood dinner party. Poët-Laval ceramics have a rich history rooted in the picturesque village of Le Poët-Laval in southeastern France, built by the Hospitallers of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem in the early 13th century.
The ceramics from Poët-Laval are known for their distinctive style, vibrant glazes, and intricate designs reflecting the Provencal heritage. They gained international acclaim in the mid-20th century, especially during the 1960s, for their high-quality craftsmanship. These ceramics include a variety of pieces such as vases, platters, and decorative items, marked by vibrant colors and elaborate patterns
