This masterfully executed portrait of a young lady is signed M. Stohl and dated 1854 in the lower right. The colors are particularly vibrant for a watercolor. Framed behind glass in a gilded oval frame.

Michael Stohl was an Austrian watercolorist born in 1813 and died in 1881. Renowned for his mastery of watercolor painting, Stohl's works are celebrated for their delicate use of color and light, capturing landscapes and scenes with remarkable detail and subtlety.
