The technique known in French as "fixé sous verre", translates to "fixed under glass." This decorative art form involves painting on the reverse side of glass panels, which is then viewed from the front. This technique originated in the Renaissance period and became particularly popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is revered for its vivid details and the depth of color it achieves, as the glass adds a luminous quality to the pigments.
