A striking late 19th-century enameled cast iron mold from Alsace, crafted in the form of a reclining lamb, a traditional Easter symbol known as Agneau Pascal.

The mold features a vivid royal blue enamel exterior with a contrasting white-glazed interior, both exhibiting charming craquelure and areas of surface wear that reveal the cast iron beneath. Two loop handles with original iron latches allow the two halves to close securely for baking. The expressive modeling of the lamb, complete with curled fleece and gentle facial features, reflects the regional craftsmanship of northern France. The enamel has aged beautifully, with oxidation and patina enhancing its rustic character and authenticity.

This rare culinary form was used to bake ceremonial cakes celebrating Easter, embodying Christian symbolism while also serving as a testament to regional artisanal traditions. The weighty construction and tactile enamel finish underscore its quality and make it equally appealing as a decorative object.
