A tall Bohemian crystal soda siphon in striking emerald green, made in Czechoslovakia during the early to mid-20th century, captures both the brilliance of colored glass and the robust elegance of European barware. Molded with vertical flutes, the bottle glows in vivid green, its thick-walled crystal catching the light with jewel-like depth. The fluted profile reflects the clean geometry of Art Deco design, while also reinforcing the structure against pressure.
These siphons were made in the renowned glassworks of northern Bohemia, where centuries of crystal-making expertise produced bottles both robust and luminous, destined for export across Europe. This example carries an acid-etched advertising cartouche for a French bottler in Perpignan, its practical markings adding to the historic charm. A domed metal head with curved spout and lever completes the silhouette. Timeworn patina to the head, faint limescale within, and light surface wear all add to its vintage charm.
Renowned for their brilliance and strength, Bohemian crystal siphons like this married utility with striking color, enlivening cafés, bars, and homes with both function and style. Today, the vibrant green glass offers a bold pop of color in a kitchen, bathroom, or on a bar cart, where it reads as both sculptural accent and fragment of European cocktail history. Group it with other colored siphons for a jewel-like display, or let it stand alone to glow near natural light.
