Cutlery strainer w/ dark brown glaze 8"

SKU: 18626

US$373
This rare, tall strainer pot dates from the late-nineteenth century. While it is similar to cheese strainers or 'faisselle' this was more likely used for cutlery after washing to let it sit upright to drain off. The timeworn dark chocolate glaze is superb and it is perforated on the sides and underneath, sitting on a little integrated ring foot.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
Approx. overall 8" high x 5" diameter
Approx. overall 20cm high x 13cm diameter
