A refined small coupe or drageoir in finely cut and blown crystal, attributed to Baccarat and dating from the early 19th century. The elegant form features two gracefully curved handles and a delicately engraved body, resting on a pedestal foot. The crystal is mounted on a solid silver base bearing the Minerva hallmark, attesting to its quality and French origin. The contrast between the brilliance of the cut crystal and the understated richness of the silver mount enhances the overall elegance of the piece. In very good condition, with no visible damage.
Baccarat, founded in 1750, is one of France’s most prestigious crystal manufactories. Pieces from this early period are typically unsigned, as the firm only began systematically marking its production from around 1930. Interestingly, this particular pattern is recorded in the 1916 Baccarat catalogue, suggesting the model remained in production or was later referenced, and pointing to a relatively rare design. In excellent condition, with no visible damage.
The crystal retains its clarity and brilliance, and the silver mount is well preserved. A rare and elegant piece, ideal as a bonbon dish or a refined centrepiece.
