A rustic Swedish or German commode from the late-eighteenth to early-nineteenth century. The curved, 'arbalette' drawers are superb and add a softness to the design, sitting on charming round bun feet. Originally designed to be used in a bedroom, a chest of drawers of this scale would be beautiful in a living room, dining room or entryway. Made from pinewood with a recently applied blue / gray paint finish (some original carvings or marquetry are slightly visible along the facade of the drawers). The drawers are a little hard to slide so will be re-sanded and waxed prior to dispatch to ensure that they operate smoothly. Wear and tear as seen in photos, particularly the top. No keys.
