Extra large primitive cutting board with trough 24½" x 16¼"

An unusual very large antique French cutting board from the late nineteenth century. Carved from a single piece of wood, note the basin shape - likely used for cutting meat so as not to lose the juices. 

An exceptional find for lovers of French culinary antiques. As the cutting board is bowl-like, the decorative possibilities are broad - as well as for serving generous platters at large gatherings.
