A petite French Art Deco baluster vase in frosted glass with polychrome enamel panels of stylized roses in cobalt blue and primrose yellow. Finely worked silvered-metal appliqués accent the form: a reeded collar at the neck, a matching foot, and delicate garlands with rosettes cascading along the shoulders. Signed D’Argyl, from the renowned Paris manufacture active in the interwar years. With a soft, even patina and only light wear to the enamel, it is a well-preserved and highly collectible piece.
Known for its refined glassware enhanced with silvered-metal ornament, D’Argyl exemplified the luxury craftsmanship of 1930s Paris, where artisans merged geometry, color, and texture with restrained elegance. The combination of frosted glass, vivid enamel, and luminous metal is emblematic of the firm’s style.
Compact and luminous, it can be displayed alone on a console or mantel, grouped with mirrored or chrome pieces for a modernist vignette, or paired with marble, oak, or lacquered finishes for a balanced Art Deco composition. On a vanity, it lends a note of elegance, catching the light with subtle brilliance. A single branch or bloom will accentuate its sculptural silhouette and understated glamour.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
