This bold pair of large painted tole flush mounts or wall sconces from the 1970s takes the form of stylized flowerheads, their crimped leaves with serrated edges and veining arranged in tiers to resemble layered petals. Finished in soft sage, celadon, and apricot tones, each rosette is completed by an inner crown of upright petal-like leaves that cradle a single light. Light wear with small chips and specks of oxidation enhances the authentic vintage appeal.
The design reflects the mid-century revival of painted tole, a tradition rooted in earlier French and Italian decorative metalwork. Naturalistic leaf rosettes recall Rococo and provincial floral motifs, while the tiered, low-profile format adapts to both ceiling and wall use. Generous in scale, they make a bold decorative statement with their layered botanical form and softly painted palette. Installed as a pair, they bring presence and texture to a foyer, powder room, or bedroom, or can flank a mirror or doorway as striking appliques. Bulbs not included.
