These exquisite bird prints are 19th-century chromolithographic reproductions of original engravings by John Gould and H.C. Richter, drawn from Gould’s monumental ornithological series "The Birds of Europe", published between 1832 and 1837. The featured species, Ptilinopus Ewingii and Nectarinia Gouldiae, are brought vividly to life through the vibrant coloration and meticulous detailing characteristic of Gould’s collaboration with Richter, his principal illustrator.

The works are elegantly presented in slim, gilt wooden frames, whose gentle wear adds to their authentic vintage charm. John Gould (1804–1881), often referred to as the “British Audubon,” was a leading 19th-century ornithologist and publisher of lavishly illustrated bird books. His work, and that of Richter, blended scientific accuracy with artistic beauty, making them not only valuable scientific records but also enduring decorative treasures.
Their prints remain among the most admired examples of natural history art from the Victorian era.

These pieces bring a touch of refined naturalism to any setting. Ideal for a study, hallway, or curated gallery wall, they pair beautifully with botanical illustrations or vintage maps. Whether integrated into a classic interior or used to add interest to a modern space, their delicate balance of elegance and scientific heritage makes them timeless additions to any collection.
