A mid-20th-century French earthenware soliflore vase, likely from Dieulefit in the Drôme, hand thrown with a pear-shaped body, tall cylindrical neck, and a pulled strap handle. Finished in a bottle-green glaze with a light craquelure patina and soft tonal shifts, it has a gentle luster and timeworn surface with minor scuffs and firing specks. The neck rises with a faint, natural irregularity that speaks to the potter’s hand. Unmarked, it merges traditional craftsmanship with modern restraint and the authentic character of hand-thrown pottery.
A versatile accent for a mantle, bedside table, or kitchen shelf, it brings a soft note of color and texture. Use it with a single stem, an olive twig, or a dried grass to emphasize the graceful neck, or group with other French vernacular ceramics for a collected vignette. Its compact scale slips easily into bookcases and console displays, pairing especially well with rattan, stone, and raw wood.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
