A set of eleven artisan dinner plates from the mid-20th century in glazed earthenware from Provence, displaying a deep mottled green palette ranging from bottle to olive tones, with two plates showing a softer yellow-green cast, perhaps originally part of a different set. Each shallow coupe form has a softly rounded rim, its surface marked by variegated pooling and speckling that catch the light. Slightly smaller than standard dinner plates, they are well suited for hors d’oeuvres, salads, or desserts. At the back, two plates bear the stamp of Ravel Manufactory, Aubagne, and most show the characteristic tripod stilt marks from firing.
The glaze shows an appealing crazed patina with light utensil wear and minor glaze nicks to the rims.
Founded in 1837, Ravel of Aubagne is renowned to this day for its fine earthenware and garden pottery, uniting regional clay with practiced craftsmanship and balancing rustic heritage with timeless, modern simplicity.
These plates bring a vivid, natural note to both contemporary and traditional interiors. They style beautifully with white linen and simple glassware for relaxed dining, or layered with neutral stoneware to introduce depth and color. Stack them on open kitchen shelving, set a long farmhouse table with woven placemats and wood boards, or mount a few on a wall to create a rustic Provençal vignette that ties together terracotta, natural wood, and greenery.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
