Made by Roger Capron in the mid-late twentieth century, this superb pitcher has eight matching cups and is known as a "service à orangeade". Made from terracotta with matte white glaze and decorated with blue chevron, oval and striped patterns. The colors are evocative of the Mediterranean and will add an instant coastal touch to a tablescape.

Roger Capron (1922-2006) was a renowned French ceramist who played a key role in revitalizing the ceramic industry in Vallauris. Born in Vincennes, France, he studied at the School of Applied Arts in Paris and moved to Vallauris in 1946. There, he founded Atelier Callis with Robert Picault and Jean Derval. Capron's work is noted for its innovative forms, vibrant glazes, and geometric patterns, blending traditional techniques with modernist aesthetics. His ceramics, including tiles, tableware, and sculptures, are celebrated for their artistic quality and functional design, making them highly collectible and admired globally. Today, his works are displayed in the Picasso Museum in Vallauris.
