A superb set of eight Gien plates dating from the 1930's / 40's. They are handpainted with a simple checkered pattern with burgundy red and blue stripes. As they are hand painted there are variations between the plates with one in particular that is lighter than the rest. The pattern is called 'Brigitte' and each plate is stamped Gien underneath. A lovely breakfast or dessert plate. 

Light wear.
Each measures approx. 9" x 0¾" deep
Each measures approx. 23cm x 2cm deep
