A set of three petite bronze vide-poches (catchall dishes) by Max Le Verrier, mid 20th century, Paris. Each shallow round dish is cast in solid bronze with hand-chased low relief, presenting mythological motifs including Verseau (Aquarius), a winged horse, and a classical lyre. The surfaces glow with a mellow golden tone and a pleasing pebbled texture, the rims subtly irregular from hand finishing. The trio presents in very good vintage condition with a timeworn patina, scattered faint abrasions, and gentle darkening to recesses that accentuates the modeling.

Max Le Verrier (1891–1973) was a leading sculptor of the Art Deco movement in France, celebrated for dynamic figures and refined desk objects produced in his Paris workshop. These small bronze dishes form one of the most recognisable and enduring groups within his body of work. They beautifully demonstrate his craftsmanship, with crisp sand-casting, deft chasing, and nuanced patination that bridge the interwar taste for stylized classicism with the mid-century fascination for astrology and myth. Their compact scale and tactile relief invite handling, recalling the tradition of the small catchall dish kept on a desk or console for coins, keys, or matches.

Elegant scattered across a writing table, aligned on an entry console, or grouped on a coffee table, they add a warm glint and sculptural interest. Also ideal when used individually as bedside catchalls for small keepsakes such as earrings or cufflinks.
