French Antique Copper Cooking Pots Kettles Pans

Copper

Antique copper brings warmth, material depth, and a record of skilled handwork to any interior, and the French tradition of coppersmithing produced objects that were built to outlast the households they served.

The collection spans the full range of what French and regional workshops produced in this material across the 19th and early 20th centuries. Cookware was hammered from sheet copper and fitted with iron or brass handles, each piece shaped for a specific task and tinned inside to protect the metal and the food alike. Jelly and food molds carry their purpose in their relief decoration, fruit and botanical motifs pressed into the copper surface that would transfer to the finished dish. Watering cans and garden vessels reflect the same quality of construction applied to outdoor work, where weight and durability mattered as much as form. Wall-mounted fountains with Napoleonic engraving represent the more architectural end of the range, where copper was used to furnish a room rather than simply equip it.

These pieces work in kitchens on open shelving and counters, grouped with antique pottery and culinary antiques, and displayed individually as sculptural objects in living spaces where their warm surface catches the light.

Each piece is carefully measured, clearly documented, and professionally photographed, with condition and any repairs to the tinning noted. Stock availability is maintained in real time. All copper ships directly from France and is packed using methods developed for heavy and irregularly shaped metal objects.

Antique copper improves with handling and display, and the best pieces are the ones that continue to be used.
