Dating from the late nineteenth century, this stunning set of ten dinner plates is decorated with dark green / blue decor in a pattern called "Compiègne". Made by the Longwy faience with pretty Louis XVI style motifs including trophies and garlands.
Note one has a crack as seen in photos. Longwy dinnerware, originating from the Longwy pottery factory in France, is celebrated for its craftsmanship and intricate designs. Established in the late 18th century, the factory initially focused on faience and later expanded into producing fine porcelain.
