17th century icon painting - The Final Judgment 17¾" x 13¾"

This rare and exquisite icon, representing the Final Judgment, is painted on canvas and mounted on a wooden panel. Entirely original and never restored, it is likely from Northern Greece and dates back to the late 17th or early 18th century. The heavy canvas has been directly attached to the wooden back. The icon features intricate religious imagery, including the symbolic Eye of Providence, which represents divine omniscience and is often associated with the Holy Trinity in Christian iconography.
