An extraordinary, petit Baroque gilded mirror dating from the eighteenth century, Italy. Taking a cue from the works of Italian sculptor Andrea Fantoni, the water gilded wood frame is richly decorated with ornate scrolling acanthus leaves, elevated by their considerable thickness. A cherub angel watches over the top of the mirror, and an abstract fleur-de-lis graces its base. This superb mirror makes the list of good things that come in small (thoughtfully wrapped) packages and will instantly add a touch of ornate elegance to your space.
The glass has been replaced with salvaged antique mirror and the frame re-gilded.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
