A delightful bronze bell with a wrought iron wall bracket dating from the end of the eighteenth century. Previously used at a large home in Carpentras, France, perhaps as a bell to announce that it is time for dinner. Note the wall bracket's pretty scrolling wrought iron pieces and patina of the bell.
Today, it could be a terrific decorative piece in an entryway or mounted on a wall outside in a garden. The bell still makes a lovely sound. To ring the bell, simply attach a chain or rope to the top link fixed to the piece attached to the bell and loop over the tallest goal post style bracket at the back and pull down.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
