This French biot jar dates to the 18th century. Originally used for storing olives and olive oil. This weighty jar has a worn yellow glazed rim and is beautifully weathered. There are also some splashes of green and yellow glaze. The rim is comparably straight indicating that this is a jar from the 18th century.
The jar has been recently repaired at the base.
This iconic French olive jar is suitable for gardens and indoors, to hold pot plants or simply laissez-fair.
