This rustic tole French lantern was used by miners in the 1700s. The sides are decorated with a pierced pattern. This lantern would be delightful placed on an outdoor table or hung from a tree (note loop on top) to illuminate an outdoor soirée. Note the front panel is missing its original piece of glass. Perhaps consider using a battery-operated candle so the flame will not blow out if using outdoors.
Heavy wear and rustic condition consistent with age and use.
