A superb oil-on-canvas portrait of a woman holding a single pink rose from the eighteenth century. The beautiful antique gilded Louis XVI style frame is more recent. The style of this painting is Louis XVI / Directoire. Note the fine technique demonstrated in the portrayal of the white silk bow ribbon and lace details of the young woman's dress. Note the delicate white feathers decorating the top of her coif. An enchanting portrait for a young girl's room or featured with an art spotlight on a gallery wall to illuminate the lovely details.
