18th-century oil-on-canvas religious painting by the École française 25½" x 32¾"

Dating back to the eighteenth century, an exquisite oil-on-canvas painting representing the Virgin, the sleeping child Jesus, and Saint John the Baptist as a child. Completed at the École française. Ensconced in a lovely Louis XVI-style gilded frame. Likely a commission piece for a church, and as such, it is typical for religious paintings to be unsigned. Professional work has been done to restore the color and protect and preserve the painting's varnish.
