This exquisite bugadier jar from Biot dates from the nineteenth century and has a pretty pattern around the rim. A gorgeous pot to use as a planter both indoors or in the garden.
These kinds of pots are known as 'Bugadier'. In the Provençal dialect, “bugade” translates to laundry, therefore the bugadier was an early type of washing machine and also served other purposes like storing water, macerating food or as a decanter.

Never plant directly into the pot - use as a cachepot with a plastic liner.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
