1900s French Faux-Bamboo Dressing Table with Marble Top and Mirror - 66½"

An early-20th-century French faux-bamboo dresser or washstand, beautifully crafted in warm honey-toned fruitwood and topped with a white marble surface and matching surround. The wood is finely sculpted to resemble bamboo canes, with rounded corner posts, articulated nodes, and applied bamboo motifs defining the drawers and paneled doors. A large rectangular mirror rises above, set within a matching bamboo-style frame and mounted on brass side screws that allow it to pivot. The mirror retains its original glass, with a charming sparkle along the edges and gentle age speckling that does not diminish its reflection.

The lower section is composed of two frieze drawers above two paneled doors, opening onto a wide interior fitted with a fixed shelf, that provides ample storage.  The ensemble rests on turned bun feet that lift the piece lightly from the floor. A visible crack along one side panel is present, consistent with the natural movement of solid wood over time and not compromising the structure or stability. The marble shows subtle wear and faint tonal variation, while the overall piece remains sound, balanced, and well preserved. The lock has been changed and is functional.
