Dating from the 1920s, France, a lovely oil-on-canvas portrait of a lady. Her curled coif is a strawberry blonde, complementary to her ochre had and blouse. She wears pearls around her neck and her expression is looking away from the painter. She has blue eyes and wears a red lipstick. The background is a lovely jewel tone blue.
This would make a delightful addition to a photo gallery wall to add a touch of French "je ne sais quoi" and nostalgia to your interiors. Inspired by Russian artist Nicolas Poliakoff (1899 - 1976) who was active in France and known for figurative paintings. Note: One or two little places on canvas where paint has chipped off but does not deter from the overall beauty of the piece.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
