A generously sized English silver-plated butter bell from the 1920s features a domed rectangular cover topped with a finely cast ring handle, while the tray has softly contoured edges with pierced foliate cartouches that double as delicate handles; the silver plate shows a gentle, lived-in glow with light surface scratches and minor age-softened wear at high points, and remains in very good overall condition. Combining clean geometry with refined accents, it is both practical and decorative; a softly reflective patina adds depth and a subtle satin sheen from years of careful use, and it retains its original clear glass liner.
A charming accent for breakfast on a linen-laid table, this dish also works beautifully on a cheese board or sideboard with silver and porcelain.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
