St Raphaël Quinquina is a French aperitif known for its distinctive flavor, derived from quinine and a blend of herbs. Established in 1830 by the French chemist Joseph Dubonnet, it was originally formulated as a medicinal tonic. It gained popularity as a refreshing beverage and became a well-known aperitif in France. The drink's name, "St Raphaël," is a reference to the archangel Raphael, often associated with healing. Over time, St Raphaël has been enjoyed both as a standalone drink and as an ingredient in cocktails, reflecting its enduring appeal in French beverage culture.
