A charming mid-century garden ornament depicting a dove in a graceful pose, its head gently turned and tail fanned elegantly behind. Crafted in concrete, the piece was originally painted white, with remnants still visible across the body, now beautifully crackled and worn with age. Lichen growth and natural weathering lend it a richly textured, timeworn patina. Traces of additional paint remain, particularly the green pigment on the base, suggesting it was once more vividly coloured to enhance its lifelike appearance.
The bird is mounted on an integral base with an irregular, sculptural form. The underside retains old fixing hardware, with visible screws embedded within the base, suggesting it was once securely set into a larger structure, likely atop a plinth or garden wall. The rugged, uneven lower edge appears to result from its removal, giving the piece a fragment-like quality that speaks to its history and lends it a distinctive, timeworn character.
A characterful piece, well-suited to display in a garden, on a terrace, or as part of an interior decorative arrangement, bringing a sense of quiet charm and nostalgia.
