This vintage French agricultural prize plaque from 1959 is a wonderfully authentic piece of rural heritage, originating from the town of Percy in the Manche region of Normandy. Cast in aluminum, it proudly commemorates a heifer competition ("Génisses") at a local livestock fair ("Concours-Foire"). The soft green patina, time-worn surface, and raised lettering lend it a storied charm, while a small hole at the top reveals it was once displayed on a farm wall or stable, testifying to the owner's pride in agricultural excellence.

These plaques were often found on the façades of farm buildings or inside barns, serving both as decoration and a mark of success. Today, they make striking decorative accents in kitchens, mudrooms, or garden sheds, especially when grouped with other plaques or vintage farm objects. Whether hung individually or as part of a curated collection, this piece adds a touch of rustic French authenticity. Other plaques are available here: perfect for building your own collection with layered textures, dates, and regions that speak to France’s rich agrarian past.
